Confessions of a Prim Nail Convert
I will have to admit in the past I have absolutely detested prim nails. They either looked scary or didn’t move with your hand in a way that looked even remotely natural. There seemed to be little hope to fix that problem short of using certain viewers and I can also admit I’m attached to the regular viewer. So I was more than a bit skeptical when Sami showed me a new, well new to me, set of prim nails that both looked real and at least appeared to move with your hand in a way that made sense. I popped over and bought a pair of the Sculpted Nail V2 from PixelMode [PM]. They have a glossy set and a sparkly set. I opted for the gloss. The photos here are all showing the red high gloss color but you can switch to a variety of gloss, high gloss and french manicure via the included hud. Grab them HERE.
The nails come in a variety of sizes from 10 to 50 to accommodate all of our various hand sizes. I chose to up my hand size to 20 for the best fit and was pleasantly surprised by their placement and appearance from a variety of angles. The nails also come with a set of gloves to match your skin tone, provide it’s one from a few of the major designers, to provide the most even appearance on your hands. There’s a set for those who aren’t able to find a preset in the several options. Gloves aren’t required to wear them comfortably though.
The previously mentioned prim nail issues that I hate are controlled in this set by a feature called hand lock. It keeps your hands in a certain position which keeps the nails aligned and looking very nice. There is one drawback to this feature though. It will distort your hand placement in certain poses so that your hands end up in your back, thigh or what not. Short of that issue, which would require wearing the nails as you pick poses on the runway, these are a great buy and should be looked into if you have been avoiding prim nails like myself. Grab them HERE.
